Camden Music Service’s Spring Festival takes place every March and April across a number of venues and comprises a series of concerts that showcase the huge array of Camden’s ensembles, from jazz bands and orchestras to instrumental groups and vocalists.
The young musicians in today’s concerts meet four times a year at holiday music courses and either live or study in Camden: there are groups for primary beginners, pop singers, and instrumentalists who have been playing for a number of years. As well as learning to play a diverse range of music that includes female and global majority composers, these young musicians create their own pieces through improvisation and composition. At holiday courses, friendships are formed and nurtured, and the young musicians simply love playing music together!
This lunchtime concert celebrates the work of Camden’s primary school musicians. That same day, there is also an evening concert welcoming some of Camden’s senior groups: Philharmonic Band, Concertante, Camden Youth Orchestra and Percussion Ensemble.
