The Concert
Join presenter Rachel Leach and the LSO as they explore Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique and embark on a spooky adventure, featuring a dream, a witch and a waltz!
LSO Family Concerts are a fun, informative way for families to experience live music together and learn more about the instruments of the orchestra. Each concert is based on a theme, with free workshops before the performance, and the opportunity for everyone to get involved by playing or singing along with the audience participation piece during the concert.
Pre-Concert Activities
Arrive early to take part in free craft and musical activities in the foyers ahead of the concert. Further details will be announced closer to the concert.
Please note that we are no longer able to offer a crèche facility for younger siblings at this concert.

Join Midge Parry & pianist Jo Smith to learn the participation song Dans Le Metro, ready to sing along with the LSO in the hall
Instrumental Participation Workshops
12pm, 12.35pm, 1.10pm, 1.45pm, Stalls Lounge, Level –1
LSO Player Shaun Thompson leads Instrument Participation for Dans Le Metro, teaching parts for you to play along with the LSO during the concert. Young people are encouraged to bring their own instruments from home, and LSO will provide some classroom percussion for those to join in. Pre-booking required, details to be announced.
Music Making Workshop

Kizzy Brooks leads an introductory Music Making workshop based around Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique – which we will learn more about in the concert
