Georgian pianist and ECHO Rising Star Giorgi Gigashvili performs much-loved piano pieces alongside a new work by Georgian composer Natalie Beridze.
Demonstrating his versatility, Gigashvili’s programme spans the early 18th century, with two sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti, through Chopin’s Ballade No 4 in F minor, Ravel’s Miroirs and two pieces from Boulanger’s Trois Morceaux, to a new ECHO commission by Natalie Beridze.
Born in Tbilisi in 2000, Gigashvili studied at the Paliashvili Central Music School for Gifted Children followed by the Tbilisi State Conservatory, under Revaz Tavadze. In April 2019 he won First Prize at the Vigo International Piano Competition and since September 2021 he has been studying with Nelson Goerner in Geneva.
