Please read the full information in the More Information section carefully before booking.

The Concert

Drake Music presents an evening of new music, ideas and perspectives from the talented artists of this year’s Drake Music Collective (DMC). Join us on a musical journey that spans genres from spoken word to dark pop hosted by DMC Creative Facilitator, Miss Jacqui.

The Artists

Kindred Prisms – a folk singer-songwriter whose work blends winding melodies and fingerpicking, telling stories shaped by a neurodivergent, Disabled perspective.

Manukai – an alt/ dark-pop artist whose music is informed by their experiences growing up Blasian and bi-laterally deaf.

Stottie – a London-based indie pop singer-songwriter whose sound is characterised by introspective lyrics and delicate melodies.

Ant Lightfoot – a Bristol-based neuroqueer artist whose unique style combines hip-hop, poetry, comedy, and metal.

VVN – a multidisciplinary artist whose neo-soul, Afrofusion, and R&B-infused work explores love, healing, and spirituality through her Black British Nigerian heritage.

About Drake Music & Drake Music Collective

More Information

Infection Control Measures

To protect everyone at this event, Drake Music kindly asks that attendees follow the measures below to reduce the spread of infectious diseases.

The measures below are in place to protect people attending who may experience serious and long-term health issues if exposed to infectious diseases. Please read the full information carefully before booking.

If the measures below are not accessible for you, we invite you to watch our online livestream with BSL interpretation and captions. See above for booking details.

If You Are Unwell on the Day or have Symptoms

If You Are Unwell on the Day

  • Please do not attend.
  • As part of your ticket, we will provide you with a live-stream link to watch from home. The link will be sent to ticket-holders by email the day before the concert.

If You Have Symptoms of Infectious Illness

  • You will be asked to leave.
  • Exceptions will be made for people who suffer from hayfever and other non-infectious conditions.
Why We're Taking these Measures

We want the showcase to be as safe and as inclusive as possible for all:

  • Covid and other transmissible infections can be dangerous for everyone, but particularly Disabled and immunocompromised people.
  • Covid test rates are low, and one in three cases are asymptomatic, so it’s difficult to know what the true rate of Covid infections is currently.
  • Approximately a third of Covid infections lead to long Covid, which can cause a range of serious, long-term symptoms.
  • People with marginalised identities, such as women, transgender people and people of colour, are more likely to contract Long Covid.
  • One in four people are Disabled and one in fifty are immunocompromised and these groups are more at risk from Covid and Long Covid.

FAQs

What if I can't wear a mask/test?

Please email info@drakemusic.org and we’ll be happy to discuss options so you can access the event either in person or via the livestream.

Will everyone be wearing a mask on the day?

No – performers, BSL interpreters and some people with exemptions will be unmasked. Anyone who does not mask will be asked to do a PlusLife PCR Covid test on the day before entering the building.

What about access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people?

Drake Music acknowledges that there may be conflicting access requirements, and that there is no perfect access solution. This event is aimed at members of the community who are often excluded from events due to a lack of infection control measures. We will be providing masks with clear visors for all attendees, BSL interpreters (not masked), captions and assistive hearing devices.

Will there be a quiet space available?

Yes,  there will be a separate chill-out space before and throughout the performance.
