The Concert
Prokofiev’s mind-blowing Second Symphony, plus early Beethoven and a charming opener from Schubert.
Schubert’s Die Zauberharfe is from one of his few stage-works, and this is its cheerfully bustling overture. Alice Sara Ott brings her customary brilliance and fire to the Concerto, elegantly supported by the LSO.
Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 1 is a tribute to the composer’s formidable skill at the keyboard. It has a lightness of touch alongside hints of the storminess Beethoven would become known for.
Prokofiev’s Second Symphony is a whirlwind. The first movement is forceful, with an edge-of-the-seat intensity. The second takes a gentle theme through a series of intricate variations.

Refunds and Exchanges
Contact the Box Office at least 24 hours before the performance (two weeks for group bookings) to exchange your tickets for another LSO concert or Barbican credit voucher, valid for six months. A per-ticket administration fee applies.
The LSO reserves the right to change artists or programmes if necessary. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, all bookers will receive a refund.
