Internationally acclaimed jazz clarinetist Adrian Cox and his trio present an original programme of music to celebrate the release of their highly anticipated album: Something to Say.
Described by Jamie Cullum as ‘indisputably one of the great clarinetists of the world’, Adrian Cox’s trio returns with a new album which continues to inject the timeless sound of New Orleans jazz with fresh, modern energy.
Adrian Cox will be a familiar name to patrons of the Barbican through his appearance with Jazz At Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis at the 80th Anniversary of the Benny Goodman Carnegie Hall concert. Today, he spends the majority of his life on tour, and has performed in over 30 countries in the past 18 months.
After extensive international touring as a trio, Adrian Cox, Honey Boulton (guitar) and Alex Gilson (bass) decided they wanted to write something collaboratively. Over five months of tours, sessions, flights and rehearsals, they pieced together a vibrant collection of tracks that showcase the breadth and depth of a trio who have both the complete command of their respective histories, and the passion and confidence to build something new on strongly established foundations.
