The London Symphony Orchestra is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Joshua Robison, beloved husband of our Conductor Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas.

Joshua Robison, the longtime partner and closest professional collaborator of Michael Tilson Thomas, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday 22 February, aged 79.

All of us at the London Symphony Orchestra were fortunate to know Joshua, to spend time with him on tour and in London, and to experience his warmth, kindness and tireless support for Michael and for music-making.

Joshua will be greatly missed. We send our heartfelt love and condolences to Michael, and to Joshua’s family and friends at this very sad time.
