Dame Patricia was a devoted supporter of LSO Discovery’s education and community programmes, as well as the Orchestra’s Future Ready project. Her commitment to the arts and to opening up music for wider audiences was felt strongly within our community.
The LSO had the honour of sharing the stage with her on several memorable occasions, including our Centenary Celebration Gala at Windsor in 2004 under the baton of Daniel Harding, and her unforgettable performance as the Old Lady in Candide at the Barbican in December 1998, conducted by Kent Nagano.
We are profoundly grateful for her generosity, artistry and support. The LSO extends its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and all who were touched by her remarkable life and career.
