The Concert

Vilde Frang is the soloist for Beethoven’s deeply moving Violin Concerto, and Sir Antonio Pappano and the LSO are joined by a line-up of star soloists for one of the greatest and most intense of operatic love stories.

The Music

Beethoven’s Violin Concerto stands as a singular masterpiece of poetic beauty, balancing grand orchestral scale with moments of serenity and intimate melody.

Based on a medieval tale, Tristan and Isolde is told through music that seems to transcend time and space. In this performance of the third act, wallow in the heady, ambiguous harmonies and drifting melodies that set Wagner’s opera apart as one of the most progressive of its day.

The Performers

Joining the LSO and Sir Antonio Pappano is Norwegian superstar violinist Vilde Frang, who brings a touch of magic to Beethoven’s Violin Concerto.

Pappano is one of the world’s foremost Wagner conductors – together with world-class soloists and the LSO, this performance will be one to remember.

Tristan and Isolde changed me as a musician forever.
