Interactive, creative and fun, our ‘Shake, Rattle and Roll’ music workshops for under-5s are a great way to introduce little ones to the world of music-making. Move and grove along to new sounds and songs, and get up close to the instruments of the orchestra.
It was great to have music and singing as a support for the early months of parenthood. The songs we learned together have become an important part of our daily life.
They’ve had a huge impact on our well-being – they started our week off in such a joyful way. It was an important time for both of us.
Our upcoming Autumn term 2026 will take place at LSO St Luke’s across a nine-week series on Monday mornings from September – November. There are three separate sessions for children according to their age. Please see further information below.

Applications are now open for the next nine-week workshop series, starting 21 September led by Jenna Raggett.

Workshop Times and Ages
These ages are approximate and are further determined by the applicant pool:
9.30am–10.15am: 5 years and under
10.30am–11.15am: 3 years and under
11.30am–12.15pm: 18 months and under
Application deadline: Monday 27 July 4pm
We will let you know on or around 10 August if you have been allocated a space. Successful applicants will be asked to confirm their place via a short online form by 4pm on 31 August. They will be asked to make payment within the following week, by 4pm on 7 September.
We operate a lottery booking system, choosing applicants at random for each age group. We aim to prioritise those who have applied for the previous two consecutive terms but were not successful in obtaining a place. Please use the same email address each time you apply.
What’s Included
- Nine weekly workshop sessions
- Individual attention for each child, as well as whole group activities, with no more than 15 family groups per workshop
- Activities to facilitate creativity, expression, connection and parental bonding
Cost: £108 per nine sessions
Subsidised Community Places
There are a limited number of subsidised community places available, intended for families who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend these workshops.
Subsidies are normally offered at a 50% reduction (£54), the remaining balance to be paid ahead of the start of the term. We are happy to discuss payment options that would support you to attend.
