Milda Daunoraitė

This award is truly life changing, providing not only the vital financial support but also time and freedom to fully focus on my own musical development. I am incredibly honoured for the opportunity to grow in such an inspiring musical environment.

Lithuanian pianist Milda Daunoraitė has performed throughout Europe, with recitals at the Wigmore Hall, Biarritz Piano Festival, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva. Her performances have been broadcast in 40+ countries through Mezzo TV, Radio Classique and TV5 Monde. A prizewinner of international competitions, including the V. Krainev Piano Competition and the Royal Academy of Music’s 2023 Sterndale Bennett Prize.

Highlights include solo recitals at the Laeiszhalle; Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Spoleto Festival, Deal Festival and Petworth Festival. She recently performed Stravinsky’s Piano Concerto conducted by Edward Gardner and will reprise the work in October with Joanna MacGregor CBE and the Brighton Philharmonic. Having won The Purcell School Concerto Competition, she performed Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. After being featured by EMCY, she performed V. Bacevičius’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, which was broadcast across Europe by Euroradio.

Milda is studying with Tessa Nicholson at the Royal Academy of Music, where she was awarded the prestigious Bicentenary Scholarship to support postgraduate studies. Her musical development has been supported by The Munster Trust, Help Musicians, Keyboard Charitable Trust, Hattori Foundation and SOS Talents Foundation – MS. As this year’s Tillett Debut artist, Milda will give concerts across the UK over the next two seasons.

As an accomplished chamber musician, Milda has extensive experience in orchestral performance and has worked closely with distinguished artists including Barbara Hannigan, Ryan Bancroft and Colin Currie.
