Alix Vaillot-Szwarc

I am deeply honoured to have been accepted on to such a prestigious scheme and feel incredibly inspired by the chance to be connected with the LSO.

Alix Vaillot-Szwarc is a 23-year-old French violinist based in London, currently beginning her Master’s studies with Professor Itzhak Rashkovsky at the Royal College of Music, where she has been supported by full scholarships throughout both her Bachelor and Master’s degrees. For the 2025–26 season she is also an LSO Conservatoire Scholar and a Countess of Munster Musical Trust Scholar, distinctions that underline her emergence as one of the most promising young violinists of her generation.

She began playing the violin at the age of four, entered the Conservatoire de Paris at twelve to study with Suzanne Gessner, and later trained for four years at the Yehudi Menuhin School under Akiko Ono before joining the Royal College of Music.

As a soloist, Alix has appeared with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia, the LSE Orchestra, Farnham Sinfonia, the St James Chamber Orchestra and others. She has performed at leading festivals including Aix-en-Provence, Keshet Eilon, Les Nuits Pianistiques, the Ravel Festival (where she received the Bonnat-Helleu Prize), Allegro Vivo (Austria), and the Berlin-Bechstein Festival.

Her competition successes include First Prize and Prix d’Excellence at the Léopold Bellan Competition, prizes at the International Valsesia Competition, and Second Prize at the International Malta Competition.

She has participated in masterclasses with Maxim Vengerov, Dora Schwarzberg, Vadim Gluzman, Mihaela Martin, Chaim Taub, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Boris Garlitsky, Ulf Wallin, Natalya Boyarskaya and others. She currently performs on a Rovatti violin generously loaned by Florian Leonhard Fine Violins.
