In light of the current coronavirus lockdown, and government rules regarding gatherings, all public performances and workshops at the Barbican and LSO St Luke’s have been cancelled or postponed until further notice. Initially this period covers all public events from Monday 16 March up until Tuesday 30 June 2020, but we will continue to review this over the coming weeks, and will be in touch as soon as possible if this changes.
We appreciate your support during this time, and ask that you bear with us and the Box Office as ticket-holders are notified. If you have booked a ticket for something that’s been cancelled, you will be able claim a refund or exchange your tickets and the Barbican Centre Box Office will be in touch soon. A large number of events at the Barbican and LSO St Luke’s are being cancelled and postponed, so we ask that you are patient and avoid contacting the Box Office directly at this stage.
We are saddened to have to cancel performances, but the health and wellbeing of our audience-members, musicians and staff is of the utmost importance. We know that music can bring comfort, hope and community in difficult times, and our mission remains to ensure that this is available to everyone, everywhere. In the coming weeks we will be using our online channels to share videos of performances, articles, interviews and playlists. We invite you to join us, and to connect with other music-lovers around the world.
Play different instruments and make new music with others, including professional musicians. Enjoy a choice of art and music throughout the day.
The day will include:
Try an instrument, with help from musicians from the LSO
Take part in arts and crafts activities
Relax in our quiet chill-out zone, and explore our online play-space LSO Play
Buy drinks and snacks in the Café, or bring your own lunch to eat there
