‘I wrote a scherzo which is subject to ‘chance’, with material which may, or may not, get played according to the performer as an individual. Performance directions like ‘play if you’re a man’, or ‘play if you have blue eyes’ divide players in the orchestral sections unnaturally.’ Read more about Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian's Marx Brothers-inspired piece A Dancing Place, which features on the recently released Panufnik Legacies III.

'I have always visualised music to some extent before I compose and normally aim to have an imaginative overview of the whole work in my mind before pen meets paper’ Ewan Campbell discusses his work with the Orchestra since participating in the Panufnik Composers Scheme in 2016.
‘Interspersed with my avid listening were dance lessons and piano practice, this piece is essentially a reflection of this' Joanna Lee, who was part of the Panufnik Composers Scheme in 2011 talks about her work Brixton Briefcase, which is featured on the newly released Panufnik Legacies iii album.
