The LSO is saddened to hear of the death of John Duffy, former LSO Double Bass and later Personnel Manager, on 14 February.

With the release of Symphonies Nos 9 & 10 on 5 February, Gianandrea Noseda and the London Symphony Orchestra approach the halfway point in their cycle of the complete Shostakovich Symphonies, recorded live in concert at the Barbican Hall.
The LSO is saddened to hear of the death earlier this month of former Principal Harp, Osian Ellis. Osian joined the LSO in 1961 as Principal and was a member of the orchestra until his retirement in 1994.
Sir Simon Rattle has announced that he will extend his current agreement with the London Symphony Orchestra as Music Director until 2023.
