Simon Rattle conducts an all-German programme: Beethoven’s renowned violin concerto, Schumann's Sceond Symphony and the lesser–known Hans Werner Henze’s Being Beauteous for the unusual group of soprano, harp and four cellos.

Change of programme
At the request of conductor Sir Simon Rattle, the symphony being performed at the concert on 1 June will be Schumann’s Symphony No 2, replacing Brahms’ Symphony No 4 which was originally scheduled when listings were first published.
