Always fresh: always reliable
One of the most exciting things about going to see a symphony orchestra like the LSO is the fact that the music is different every time you come. One night we might be doing Russian masterpieces by Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev, the next Elgar's Enigma Variations, or Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. But what we do promise to deliver consistently is:
Over 50 evening concerts at the Barbican every season
Every September-June we offer a series of concerts with everything from the famous sounds of Beethoven and Mozart to choral music for over 100 voices and star turns from today’s most glamorous solo musicians.

A world-class venue with excellent access
The LSO is lucky enough to call the Barbican Centre its permanent home. The Centre, Grade-II listed and one of the most striking pieces of architecture in London, includes step-free access, lifts, induction loops, a waterside cafe, bars and restaurants. Not to mention two art galleries, a theatre and library; visit the Barbican's website for more.

Musicians with passion and skill
Our players really are the best in the business. The LSO was founded in 1904, before the other London orchestras, and that spirit of pioneering can still be felt in the Orchestra today. The LSO is particularly famous for providing the soundtracks to some of the biggest blockbusters of the 20th century, including Star Wars and Harry Potter.
