LSO in the foyer of the Lincoln Center, New York
LSO American Foundation
Since its early days the LSO has had special links with the United States of America. It was the first European orchestra to travel to America in 1912, and has now toured the United States more often than any other British orchestra.
The LSO even held a regular residency in the USA, at the Florida International Festival, over 15 years before it had a permanent home in London! This special relationship still continues, and in recent years the LSO has established an annual residency at the Lincoln Center in New York returning next in February 2011.
To help strengthen the LSO's ties to the United States, the LSO American Foundation was formed to support the residency through fundraising activities, and to provide a regular LSO presence in New York. Supporters are offered the opportunity to build a closer relationship with the Orchestra both in the States and at home in London through an exclusive programme of events.
US residents are able to make tax-effective charitable donations to the LSO American Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation.
To find out how to make a donation to the American Foundation please email LSO American Foundation or call +44 (0)20 7382 2514.
