To complement Debussy concerts at the Barbican, Michael Tilson Thomas takes a more intimate look at Debussy’s music and journeys through his violin and cello sonatas as well as other chamber works such as Chansons de Bilitis, Debussy’s settings of three erotic poems by Pierre Louÿs, and the sparkling Danse sacrée et profane – a piece composed
in 1904 to showcase the newly invented chromatic harp.
