Boras: Traditional Songs from the Comoros Islands

LSO St Luke's welcomes a community group of mothers, teenagers and children from Marseille, France, for a performance of traditional songs (boras), music and contemporary dance from the Comoros Islands. Led by choreographer Thierry Thieu Niang and music director Mark Withers, and also featuring musicians from the LSO, this fascinating cultural exchange is the culmination of a project as part of the LSO’s residency in Aix-en-Provence.
As a magical celebration of family, this performance brings together adults and children, and is suitable for all ages. Bring the whole family to share in this cherished passing of cultural memories from one generation to the next.
