LSO Backstage Pass
Our new scheme for over-12s
Teenagers and their families are a really important part of our audience, so we're excited to offer this scheme to enhance your concert-going experiences and give you more opportunities to get to know more about the Orchestra, the music and answer any questions you might have.
'It was brilliant. The talk explained the music and the composers - I learnt a lot I didn't know. Using the instruments and hearing the cello play the tunes put a different angle on the music for me.'

This season's events
LSO Backstage Pass is our new scheme for families with kids who are getting just that bit to old for Family Concerts. For any concert, tickets for under-16s are always just £4 but we've chosen a few concerts below that we think you might especially enjoy and have added just that little bit extra to help give you and your family a great night out with the LSO.
Why not book for the evening concert on Sunday 13 May and join us for a FREE pre-concert event for over-12s and their families from 6.30-7.20pm?
Similar in mood to the Family Concerts, animateur Rachel Leach will take you through the night's music with an LSO player and give you the chance to ask any questions you like about the music or playing in the Orchestra, as well as include just that little bit of (optional!) audience participation.
This is all included in your ticket price (£4 for under-16s, adults from £10) but booking separately for these pre-concert events is essential. Just email isla.jeffrey@lso.co.uk or 020 7382 2559 to find out more and book your places.
Coming up next...
The last event of the LSO Backstage Pass season is on Sunday 13 May 2012 at 6.30pm. There are some great stories behind tonight's music.
Come find out how Renard, the farmyard fox, gets his comeuppance at the hands of a cock, cat and a ram and how a soldier's deal with the devil doesn't end as well as he hoped.
How to book
1) First book your concert tickets online at lso.co.uk or call 020 7638 8891.
2) Next email me, Isla, at isla.jeffrey@lso.co.uk or call me on 020 7382 2559 to book for the free pre-concert event and find out more.
Feedback
Here's what you had to say about previous events ...
'Thank you very much to all of you involved in putting on last night's talk ... The scheme seems to me to be filling a real gap for youngsters who are interested in music but are too old for the family concerts.'
Parent
'The talk was enthusiastic, entertaining and enlightening. As the mum of a child who is playing music , it was wonderful to learn about the composers and the pieces we were to hear. We both remembered different things from the talk and nudged each other when they came up.'
